Hey Josh, i took my toefl at the end of june, and thanks to your prep tips i scored R 30/L 29/S 29/W 30 for a total of 118 points! Honestly couldn't have imagined this score beforehand, but because of you I really knew how to prepare and perform! :) Will definitely recommend you if anyone ever needs tips on how to prepare! By the way nice tattoo, thought about getting my arm sleeved for quite a while now 😄

these videos are awesome and I'm sure they'll help a lot of people! :) I've already taken my test, scored 27/30 on writing. a tip I can give from personal experience: try to keep it relatively simple. I like to write in my freetime and thus have a pretty elaborate style of expression, but I think they're looking for something a bit more plain, like how you'd write school essays. just keep in mind that things don't need to be overcomplicated, just clear and concise.

Greetings from S.Korea! I took my first toefl test last week after watching your speaking and writing tutorials for a couple of days then received 106 (R 30 L 29 S 23 W 24). Your videos were very helpful to a beginner like me. Hope many other students can get help from Josh!

I gave the new TOEFL last week and scored 29/30 in writing 2 days prep only! (105 overall; R 21, L 28, S 26, W 29) The writing templates really helped me immensely especially those little phrases even in the speaking section! Thank you tst Prep! I only had difficulty in Reading wish i had more time to practice and material too.
If anyone needs my own customised writing template and vocab list, let me know! another tip: Remember the vocabulary words you will use and write it down on your notes sheet as soon as the test starts so when the writing section comes, you dont have to worry about remembering them! 🎉

I scored 101/120 (R=21, L=27, S=26, W=27) . I know it’s not much and also I couldn’t finish the reading section. But all I want you to know that I’m from a Bengali medium background and wasn’t sure I’ll be able to clear TOEFL in one go. But I could just following your videos for 3 weeks. Thank you so much Josh!

Hello Josh. Thank you so much for your insights. I have been a fan of your channel for a long time and really learned precious stuff. What if we use the following prompt for task one writing:
Task1 of TOEFL integrated writing:
I will provide you with an “audio transcript”, a “short reading passage” and “my sample response” of the TOEFL integrated writing task or question one of TOEFL writing. You act as a TOEFL evaluator and score me on a scale of 0 to 5 based on the provided “rubric and criteria”. Remember that the “audio transcript” always casts doubts on the main point mentioned in the “short reading passage”.
Here is the “rubric and criteria”:
5 score: A response at this level successfully selects the important information from the lecture and coherently and accurately presents this information in relation to the relevant information presented in the reading. The response is well organized, and occasional language errors that are present do not result in inaccurate or imprecise presentation of content or connections.
4 score: A response at this level is generally good in selecting the important information from the lecture and in coherently and accurately presenting this information in relation to the relevant information in the reading, but it may have minor omission, inaccuracy, vagueness, or imprecision of some content from the lecture or in connection to points made in the reading. A response is also scored at this level if it has more frequent or noticeable minor language errors, as long as such usage and grammatical structures do not result in anything more than an occasional lapse of clarity or in the connection of ideas.
3 score: A response at this level contains some important information from the lecture and conveys some relevant connection to the reading, but it is marked by one or more of the following:
• Although the overall response is definitely oriented to the task, it conveys only vague, global, unclear, or somewhat imprecise connection of the points made in the lecture to points made in the reading.
• The response may omit one major key point made in the lecture.
• Some key points made in the lecture or the reading, or connections between the two, may be incomplete, inaccurate, or imprecise.
• Errors of usage and/or grammar may be more frequent or may result in noticeably vague expressions or obscured meanings in conveying ideas and connections.
2 score: A response at this level contains some relevant information from the lecture, but is marked by significant language difficulties or by significant omission or inaccuracy of important ideas from the lecture or in the connections between the lecture and the reading; a response at this level is marked by one or more of the following:
• The response significantly misrepresents or completely omits the overall connection between the lecture and the reading.
• The response significantly omits or significantly misrepresents important points made in the lecture.
• The response contains language errors or expressions that largely obscure connections or meaning at key junctures or that would likely obscure understanding of key ideas for a reader not already familiar with the reading and the lecture.
1 score: A response at this level is marked by one or more of the following:
• The response provides little or no meaningful or relevant coherent content from the lecture.
• The language level of the response is so low that it is difficult to derive meaning.
0 score: A response at this level merely copies sentences from the reading, rejects the topic or is otherwise not connected to the topic, is written in a foreign language, consists of keystroke characters, or is blank.
Here is the “short reading passage”:

I received my scores today. Got 116 (R=28, L=28, S=30, W=30) even though I couldn’t finish my Reading section! I am really happy with the scores and am glad that I found your channel just a few days before my test! The free mock tests helped a lot too. Keep up the good work, Josh!

Hi Mr Josh. I watched your videos on the writing section, but there are always situations like this lecturer and speaker disagree each other. Can you make a video about what if they are agree with each other on topic. What should i do in this situation?
