Even Chuck himself said that Possessed were the fathers of Death Metal. Saw Jeff with Possessed opening for Danzig like 13 years ago. So a fantastic set. I never thought I would have been able to see them live

I'm 53 now, but I still remember first seeing classic lineup Possessed in 1986 with Death Angel, D.R.I. and Exodus. They played second after Death Angel opened. I remember they all ripped, but to me it was Possessed that stole the show. They all walked out in their leather and spikes, Jeff started yelling out to the crowd, and then they opened with The Exorcist.

Fuuuck yeah. I remember getting into heavier metal back in 96. Going into HS, I met my older brothers only metalhead friend. I thank that dude for not treating me like some poser. I knew my shit back then, but he introduced me to death and black metal. He even gave me cds and some of his older shirts. Possessed was in the mix of shirts and cds.
He is the reason, I enjoy, introduce and sometimes give old and cheaper guitarsor basses to students that ask me about my musical preferences. Metal is on the top of the list. It was great seeing some of them start bands or just do something awesome with music.

Don't push those away that are getting into METAL. Embrace them and welcome them to the FAMILY.

Next day, 6th August Possessed had a gig in small club in Poznań. I was there it was awesome. The crowd was so engaged that the band was amazed. After the show Jeff returned on stage for some quick photos and signing of stuffs. Even after that he was near the bar for another part of taking photos. Caudeous also was for some photos.

I was into this band when it started in the early to mid 80s. The Satanic thing is silly but the music is very intense. One of the great original death/thrash metal bands.
