North Hollywood in one sentence:
North Hollywood is a dynamic cultural and artistic hot spot for younger folks - on the other hand its prices are not ridiculous for the area, although its neighborhoods could be nicer.
----------
Script:

I’m standing in front of the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood which has been called the jewel in the North Hollywood crown. It is a performing arts theater built almost a century ago.

This area is known as the NoHo Arts District which is home to many dance, acting and music studios. The Television Academy is a few blocks from here.

This district has the largest concentration of music recording venues west of the Mississippi. It also has over 30 theaters, not to mention, an annual film festival.

Nearby are hip cafes and pubs to round out your enjoyment in this planned walkable urban village.

As for real estate, North Hollywood is… honestly it’s kind of a rough neighborhood. And I say this because the prices are just going up. It’s not at that valley village or studio city level yet, but its proximity to them is making this a very expensive neighborhood. It’s in the upper middle class prices of the valley, and you get the proximity to all the fun stuff. You get to join quote unqoute artists in a city that has the word "Hollywood" in it. Other than that, it’s really just a better version of sun valley.

And yes, the more north you go, the worse it gets.

For people who thrive on the arts, this area is ideal. Its surrounding communities are also very inviting.

In keeping with this area, other works of art can be found in the North Hollywood Metro Station which display murals that continue throughout the entire metro system.
From here, you can go downtown or get on the Orange line across the street to go to Chatsworth.
If you need to refuel, there are many nearby options. The Fat dog and a hot dog joint called Vicious Dogs are walking distance. Beyond that is the Federal, a stylish bar and nightclub in an early 20th century bank building.

Adjacent to Los Angeles Valley College is The Great Wall of Los Angeles. Itss actual title is The History of Los Angeles and was completed with the help of over 400 volunteer youth and artists. At over a half mile and 13.5 feet high, it is one of the murals in the world.

North Hollywood is considered moderately diverse with over 57% of the population being Hispanic. Its restaurants and artworks reflect this diversity.

The percentages of never-married men and women were among the county’s highest.

To top off a very cultural day, you can go to the Idle Hour Bar.

Designed to catch the attention of passer-bys, the Idle Hour has a slogan:
Nothing better than drinking inside the barrel. North Hollywood is a uniquely artistic and eclectic area. If you are looking for a creative community, this may be the place for you.
