Yes, was on Phi Phi back in 1998. Different world back then before the movie The Beach came out. Glad I experienced back then. Way too many people for me now. We went to Maya Bay, think there only 4 long-tail boats in the bay. That was paradise.

When I went there in Dec 2021, Maya Bay was still closed and there were about 5 boats in Pileh Lagoon. It was so nice so clean so private but I felt for the locals. Coming out of Covid, you could see how thankful they felt seeing tourists coming back.

Looks so nice there as always. shame about the restrictions at Maya bay but they had to do something. Funny to see MacDonald's and burger king on phi phi - that used to be such a budget backpacker island and now the big corporations made it in there.

Wow! I went to Phi Phi island in 1999 I think and it was so peaceful. I stayed in a little bungalow room right on Phi Phi Don. There were a few rustic places to eat and a few resorts. I snorkeld in the bays with a few other boats. I'm glad to watch the video but now honestly I never want to go back. I'll hang on to my memories. But I would return to Krabi and Phuket as I did in 2009. I love Thailand ❤
