Klein Tools Non-Contact Voltage Testers (NCVT-1 & NCVT-2) provide non-contact detection of voltage in cables, cords, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, switches, outlets and wires. The NCVT-2 automatically detects both low and standard voltage.

Notes to self:
TO DETECT STANDARD VOLTAGE:
power it on, hold button down until the blue LED light turns green
blue: in dual range mode, can detect between low and standard voltage
steady red light and beeping: detecting standard voltage
blinking red light: detecting low voltage

I broke mine trying to replace the battery. The case is difficult to open and the on/off switch has not worked properly since. I need to replace it now since I can't get to come on without lots of thumping or shaking and repeatedly pushing the switch. Eventually it will come on but then shuts off unexpectedly.

Why not also have separate lights that are labeled to show what they mean instead of having to remember what colors mean?
