Dude, this series is actually so cool. I’ve ALWAYS dreamed of doing something like this, and I plan to, but it’s awesome to see a guy actually going and doing it. With nuthin but your hands and a tractor!!

Cut your wedge a little lower than your cut side and just a little over halfway through. (This is most important step). start a little higher on your cut side and chop downward towards your wedge. Chop until the tree falls, as pushing it over before you have the material cut will cause the tree to bind up at the fulcrum point. This should help with your tree’s getting hung up at the base. Chopping trees and cutting them with a saw requires two completely different techniques. Don’t run under a falling tree- that could lead to a very bad situation if you were to slip or trip. Good luck and keep your axe sharp

I saw you kind of did but if you chop on the one side like you did, you should chop on the other side some to prevent splintering like most of your logs do. Nice job can’t wait for the cabin to come along
