How to find a book from your childhood

Is there a special book that you read, or perhaps had read to you, at some point in your life but you can't remember the author and title? Perhaps you know the plot, or a character, or maybe even what the front cover looks like. BookSleuth® is here to help you find that book! Sometimes all you need to bring a childhood memory rushing back is the right visual – and what a gift it can be to be brought back to that time.

Today I am going to show you how to find the exact same book from your childhood on AbeBooks. With booksellers all over the world it’s easy to find the exact edition you remember.

From the homepage, navigate to Advanced Search. Start by putting in the title and author, if you don’t remember these details do a quick google search to refresh your memory. The more detail you can add to your search the easier it will be, so input anything else relevant now and press FIND BOOK.

Once the search results have loaded use the refinements panel on the left to further drill down your search. A good place to start is by seller-supplied images. If you remember any other details like if it was hardcover or paperback select that now.

You can now browse through and look for your book. To further limit your search try pressing EDIT YOUR SEARCH and add a maximum published date to about the same year you remember reading the book also select Not Print on Demand.

Now with a little patience you should be able to find the copy you are looking for. AbeBooks will probably have more than one copy, so if the first one you find isn’t satisfactory use the information in that listing to update your search terms and keep looking.

There was a book about a boy lost in the woods and he comes across a hermit living off the grid. The man teaches him about living that life until a supply boat shows up once every several months. The man dies and he has to live on his own for a while until the boat shows up. anyone?

Hey guys I'm looking for that book where a girl is mad at her sister for cutting her Teddy beard's arm, so she let's her sister's parakeet out. But then her sister fixes the bear and she feels bad and goes out to look for the bird. The art in this book was really nice, especially the nature had a nice style. I find the website very uncooperative and difficult to use, it is hard to negotiate and figure out and isolate to what I am searching for....I tried to isolate it to the early 1950s and could not. I am seeking two specific books, one a pictorial of 1950s American cars and the other is a beautifully illustrated Wild West history with high mountain trails and beautiful scenes, I thought it was by Big Golden books, this site is no help.

I am looking to buy an Elementary School Textbook, For the life of me I can't remember if it was a 5th or 6th Grade Textbook, or Which subject it was.I am thinking English book? Or even what year it was made. I know that I was awaiting to move up to the Grade to get my hands on the Book. Anyway it's a Hard Cover Text Book with an image of the Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise (Refit/movie) on it's cover. Many Years ago I saw one on Ebay but could not get it at the time. Now I can't even find it or an image of it on internet searches.
