It should be noted that "break a leg" is only used in the context of theater (stage) performance. It's a superstition, that if you actually say "Good luck!" something will go wrong; so you wish them bad luck instead ("Break a leg!") so that they will have good luck. If you used that phrase to wish someone good luck in other contexts, it would be weird.
