Waves Scheps Omni Channel - Overview & First Impression

Check out the man himself Andrew Scheps outlining uses of his latest plugin design for mixing.

SO here we are again
Wave go out and out do themselves in some kind of ultimate outdoing of the outdoers.

Scheps Omni channel is frankly one of a kind, designed in conjunction with Andrew Scheps who had this concept in mind. The Omni channel allows for totally modular interchangeable segments as well as the adding of an additional waves processor!

But wait its not that simple, each module is independently switchable between Mid Side Processing and Stereo and or duo giving some incredibly flexibility to the mixing chain. Coupled in with the fact each strip can be arranged into any order desired is some next level routing options in one strip.

Than theres more! each strip opens up to revelae a slew of other useful features such as HP and LP filters and sidechaining options, either internally or externally and again variable to each segment of the channel strip.

For some reason I can't set this plugin to stereo. It's mono no matter what track I put it on.

Question I love the video, I want to use this plugin . Question to get a consistent sound would you recommend this on every audio channel like use would do ssl compressor plugin or just on stereo bus routes with vocals etc

Bought it soon as it released!! Had been trying to decide on a plugin or two and having a hard this came and was exactly what I had been wanting!! Also, it released at only $49 instead of full price ($150 I think) so it's worth EVERY penny!! Barely got to play with it yet but already LOVE it and can tell it has what I been needing!! I'm getting problems with the mono version .When I apply compression to a track it gets panned slightly to right .Other odd subtle sound problems occur sometimes that I need to investigate .Anyone else got problems with it ?.

It seems like it would be pretty easy to link the input and output gain and match levels.

My CPU i7-4770K with Cubase Pro 9.5/Win 10/SSD, GPU is Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 and sound card buffer size @ 512 samples (Audient id22). I made 25 tracks/channels with a WAV drum loop loading the following channel strips on each of the 25 channels/tracks:

Results:
* Waves EMI TG12345 - CPU hit 44%
* iZotope Neutron 2 (all 6 modules active) - CPU hit 22%
* Waves Scheps Omni Channel (all 5 modules active) - CPU hit 21%
* Eventide UltraChannel - CPU hit 20%
* Waves Kramer HLS + PIE - CPU hit 18%
* Plugin Alliance bx_console E or G - CPU hit 10%
* Waves SSL Channel - CPU hit 6.5%

The SSL and bx_console are very CPU friendly beasts, while Neutron/Omni/TG12345 are the CPU hogs. GPU intensity of these varies with Neutron 2 and Omni Channel as most intense (SSL least GPU intense).

I think the free update Waves announced for all users fixes the plugins not showing up.

The source vocal bus (while yes, very hip) isn't the best for evaluating the strip. It's tinty, phasing and already sounds processed. :(
