These could well be unique in that they're the only toy I can think of where the manufacturers actually encouraged you to smash them to smithereens. Must be a nightmare for collectors.

Watching this video I had flashbacks of seeing the dummies perform some track or other on Top of the Pops. I think it did reasonably well too... in a novelty, Mr Blobby kinda way, if you like that sort of thing.

holy fuck man these toys were my absolute favorite as a kid. by the time they came out I was starting to outgrow toys but these toys were just too damn cool. I had the same car you had there and a bunch of guys that popped apart when you pushed or hit their belly button. they were well articulated and just completely awesome. they should bring these back because I swear to god, they were AWESOME!!!!

I remember having comic books of the crash dummies my parents would buy them at gas stations in south Florida in the early 90's
