346. GORGEOUS Abstract Fluid Art Painting!! / blooms technique / bloom recipe

#sheleeartstyle #fluidart #deconstructedbloom
Well, I wasn't happy until I was happy. I think I redid this one 5 times until I was satisfied with the composition. I cut out bits here and there so as to reduce time but left some in so you could see the struggle was real. This is a 12/x24 fluid art deconstructed bloom technique--I like how abstract this one is and really love these colors so you may see them again soon!
I post 2 videos regularly each week--one on Tuesday and one on Saturday. Both will air around 3:00 PM US east coast time. Occasionally you'll get a bonus video for premieres and collaborations--but Tuesdays and Saturdays are firm. xoxo --Karen
Colors/Brands/Bloom Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the canvas:
Sherwin William Captivate in Extra White Satin -- 4 cup batch mixed with 1/4 cup Golden GAC800 to prevent crazing.
Pouring Medium aka PM—mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Valspar Ultra Base C High Gloss Untinted house paint (#833124 from Lowe's); Minwax Polyacrylic Gloss; 3:1 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well.
Brands/Colors mixed:
Golden Fluid Acrylics in Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, Teal, Green Gold
This Little Piggy pigment in Blue Eyes, Harvest Gold, Enchantment
Golden Fluid Acrylics-- I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I'll add a teaspoon of varnish to thin.
All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it, then added into 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator (last color on your puddle before you swipe or blow it out—no PM):
Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Blue Violet mixed with a small amount of Amsterdam Oxide Black. 3:1 ratio Floetrol to paint
