We have came a long way. The military has changed even though a very few are hard to get out of their mindset. Blacks were not always treated fairly but we have had a black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (Colin Powell) and Women were not much thought of outside of nurses and typing pools but now we have Admiral Michelle Howard who is the highest ranking female in the US. Our acceptance is slow but it happens and this is proof positive. Seven years ago this song never would have happened because being gay in the military was illegal. God Bless America.

I might not be a homosexual clarinet playing marine, but I am a bisexual High School trombonist so I can empathize somewhat.

Love the message, and the fact that the Marines are so accepting (especially since we live in a nation full of homophobes), because there's no reason why they shouldn't. They all have a common goal to protect our country and that's all that should matter.
