My husband had been a backseat driver, when I was driving. It's been so annoying. That was the reason I to give up the driving. English people are very smart people to create this wonderful and very useful phrase 'backseat driver'.

Thank you Benjamin for this lesson, it's really usefull. I work as an interpreter and one of the jobs is to interpret insurance investigation meetings and, as a non native, the nuances of driving vocabulary are really useful. I'd like to ask you, if you haven´t done it yet, if you could enlighten us with vocabulary about driving in and out of a ROUNDABOUT. That would be pricelss. I'm in the UK, Thanks!!

Very clear explanation, a great video. <3
I loved the examples, thank you! :-)

I would like to ask for one specific phrase. When I am in a car with someone who is driving, and I sit in the passenger seat, often times there is the situation when we come to the crossroad and we need to give the right of the way to the cars coming from the left as well as from the right. I help the driver to pay attention to the cars, so I am checking the road coming from the right side (closer to me) and tell the driver if there is a car coming. What phrase do you use in English, when there is no car and we are free to go? In Czech we say "zprava dobrý", which literally translates as "good from the right" = it is good to go, there is no car coming from the right. But I have no idea what to use when the driver speaks only English. Is there a short phrase for that, please? :)
