Big Bud 950 is as originally a Bug Bud 650. Farmer just put a massive engine in it and rebranded it the BB950. It was never a production tractor. Just farmer refurbished and engine swapped. Just like what Welkers do. But this tractor lives in West Texas

This one might be bigger than the one the Welkers are working on now. They just put a set like the tires this one has. It also has a mechanical PTO, that they designed for it. And the engine I believe is 950 hp and transmission from a mining dump truck.

That’s definitely not the second largest farm tractor. It’s been the largest since produced in the late 70’s. 16v747 a Detroit powered monster that weighs over 100k dry.

They said it could make 1500 hp which makes sense because it's a 16v92 Detroit Diesel 2 stroke. They made a bunch of mechanical 750 hp 8v92s for fire pumps, marine, military, and snow removal equipment. The electronic DDEC 8v92 as installed in foreign tanks makes 850 hp. Modified ones make 2, 000 plus. So, 2x 750 is possible. Possibly different turbos, definitely different injector size and a few small details. A 640 hp at 2100 rpm N/A 16v92 would have 70mm injectors. The 750 hp 8v92 turbo uses 145mm. They also came optional with aluminum blocks. 850 hp from an aluminum 736 ci Diesel ain't bad, with a fluid crank damper they can spin 2300, loaded, 2450 no load all day.

I would imagine they turned it down because they either don't have the transmission to stand up to 1200, or don't have a plow wide enough to need 1200 to pull.

Im sorry if this is a silly question, I'm not a farmer, but what would be the purpose of a tractor this big? It seems like the only thing it would be good for is plowing since the tires dont fit between the rows. Be safe out there and god bless

No reason for a farm tractor like this and ppl thinking they need one are full of bs because i can do the same amount of farming as this tractor with my 600 horse powered tractor in a day
