About MLB.com: Former Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League Club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's Internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the Internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live full length MLB game over the Internet when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. As a pirates fan I know if he was on the Yankees or Astor's, any decent team, he would be known as one of if not the greatest player of the decade.

I still remember the time I kinda meet him at the B.P. gas station in Wexford. I was just standing there pumping my gas, then up pulls a nice Range Rover, and who gets out?....CUTCH.

I gave him a head nod and said, "great season Cutch". He smiled and said "thank you".

Pittsburgh will miss you Cutch!

Crick will be a force in the bullpen and the young OF you received is underrated. Solid return for Cutch. As a Giants fan I can promise you he was already so well respected by our real fans. Forget the bandwagon folk, they don't count or matter. I bought a "Get Bucc'd Up" McCutchen shirt years ago. He was always my sons "favorite player not on the Giants." He is a great guy on and off field and will be well appreciated and respected in SF. Thank you Pittsburgh. I hope the guys you got in return make it a win win for both franchises.

Nice video.  Cutch is a class act on and off the field,  and I've been a fan of his for years.  Felt bad for him (and Pirates fans) when the Pirates off'd him to the Giants.  I'm a Yankees fan, so I enjoyed having him to watch for the last 25 games or so this year.  I pretty much figured he'd be leaving, sad to see him go, but I'm glad he signed for a nice gig to probably close out a great career.  He deserves it.  Pittsburgh should be proud. (my maternal grandfather was a huge Bucs fan - he always called them the Bucs - I remember him listening to every game on the radio in the 60s and 70s)

Worked at a restaurant in the north hills, waited on cutch and his fiancée at the time. Dude paid for all the tables on the patio with tips of over 20%. Just an overall great human being. Too bad bob nutting has no soul. He should’ve been a pirate his entire career.

I was really 7-8 years old loving life with Cutch, Neil, Pedro, Young Cole, AJ Burnett, Josh Harrison, The Fort, Melancon (found a site about the “Shark Tank” and cried more because that memory was los) and now I’m a junior. just wow. 😞🥲
