Konami for over 20 years has never printed another fusion Insect Type monster.

Seeing you rocking Beetrooper is awesome. I've been taking it to locals in southwest MI (got 1st with it the first time I brought it :D) and I couldn't agree with you more for the most part. One really cool thing about Pin that wasn't mentioned is it's second effect. Not for the burn (although Pin in time is hysterical) but because you can negate it with your own Cicada King to trigger its revive, which can let you get one on your board when you wouldn't be able to otherwise or even get Scary Moth on the field, which I've been siding a copy of. (Butterfly can do this as well, which is why I think you still play 1)

I play Primitive Butterfly in my build, partially because budget, but mostly because I'm a Battlewasp player first and a Beetrooper player second and that card is crazy with the bees (relative to what Battlewasps can normally do, of course). I kept it in BattleTrooper not just as a free extender, but also to enable a small Synchro pool with Sting, thanks to its level modulation effect. By themselves they make either Draco Beserker or Stellar Wind Wolfrayet, and with only one more extender (which isn't that hard to do) you can get them with your full combo as well.

Certainly not a more competitive tech, but a pretty fun one that won't break the budget. Now if only there was some way I could also fit Transcicada in there as well...

It was hovering at around $60 ehen ready fusion first got announced. So did all of the old plain level 6 fusioms being $7.99+

Cards like Scary moth as floodgates or Metamorphosed Insect Queen to protect your board are also decent techs alongside cards like cocoon or parasite paranoid.
