The Plant in Orange, TX made a food grade butadiene rubber. The seal oil units
for the agitators were filled with peanut oil rather than petroleum based oil.
The rubber for tires had carbon black and anti oxidant blended in.

When I watch this channel's "How it's made" videos with narration, I am reminded of the old Disney classic cartoons where Goofy jokingly taught us how to swim, fish, fly a plane,

Thank you for satisfying our curiosity ☺️.

I work with this n breathe it in daily, I'm sure it's slowly killin me...That n many other chemicals are added together in a batch mixer, n comes out as nasty sticky stuff...then it gets pressed thin, cut in strips or sheets with wax paper to prevent it from clumping together, then packed in a box

Its pretty interesting that the rubber essentially 'crystallizes' out of the solvent. the crumbs are like tiny polybutadeine polymer crystals in the hexane solvent that then gets boiled away. how do people figure out this stuff?

There are times where it looks like powdered parmasian cheese.

Hexane is a petroleum based chemical too.

Was this filmed at Bayer in Leverkusen, Germany? It looks so much like that plant.

"437 yards" When the actual source material says 400 metres but you'll do anything to avoid the metric system.

Hopefully no one ever falls in those tanks. You don't want toenails showing up at Quality Control.
