I’d like to see the actual footage of that MSG performance. With John Lennon joining Elton on stage, you’d think someone would’ve remembered to bring a video camera, in fact, you’d think they’d have the finest television cameras available to record it.

That bass player was rockin' it.; as a bassist myself that's what first caught my attention. And came here to YT to see who the artist was; I first heard it on my local oldies station; I didn't know that the artists was Lennon and John. A pleasure to listen to. Also why the saxophone player was doing his solo, they should have given him some screen time. I would have liked to seen his playing. Now I must go play this on my bass. Peace out.

JOHN LENNON made a deal with ELTON JOHN, who provided backup vocals on "WHATEVER GETS YOU THRU THE NIGHT." If the song reached number one, he agreed to perform at an Elton John concert. Lennon paid up during a 1974 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
