Talk about `less is more' ; a perfect example of how simplicity of design guided by absolute perfection of line and proportion produce a magnificent work of art.

Good good video. I learned more about the MKll in your short film than in the Continental documentary I watched the other night. When I was a kid back in the 50s I remember my Uncle was going to get a new car. He had a 53 Cad El Dorado. In 56 we saw a MKII and he loved it so I said being 5, why don’t you get one. Years later I found out how expensive they were. He ended up with a black 57 Lincoln Premier. Thank you

No other American car is like the Continental. It is an exceptional car in design and elegance.

I would agree with Steve that the Continental Mark II is probably one of the greatest cars ever built. As time passes, it seems that their is a growing list of admirers who would agree with that opening statement, and the professional auto press seems to place this car at the top of the list of one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

I got to sit in Eisenhower's Mark II when it went up for auction about 10 years ago. It needed a lot of work; sad to see how such an important car had been let go and neglected over the years.

That 57 rocks. And more valuable than the 56, since they made less of them.

I believe that the 57 Mark II curb weight was 4, 825 (56 @ 4797) compared to the 57 Eldorado Brougham weight of 5, 315 outweighing the Mark II. The 56/57 Mark II only had single headlights, the 57 Eldorado brougham was the first production automobile with quad factory headlamps. Both cars are fantastic automobiles!!!

I see Lincoln is now using Scottish 'Bridge of Weir' leather - as mentioned here- again in it's cars.

I own a 2001 Chevrolet blazer -- 4 wheel drive oil always changed, never in a garage, very little, almost no corrosion. miles, runs like a top. priceless.

It should have 4 headlights in 1957 compared to 2 headlights in 1956 Lincoln Mark II.
