I feel like if I was Romani's age I would notice the massive angry rock in the center of the country

I honestly still think the saddest is Darmani. Dude was known a hero amongst Gorons, and when the situation turned too dire, he left his people in the hopes of saving them.

He failed.

He falls off a cliff in Snowpeak and perishes to the fall, unable to save the people who looked up to him.

But his spirit does not pass on. There's far too much regret, his people need him to save them, he MUST save them.

So he waits, and waits for a chance to be revived and given a second chance at saving his people.

When no such opportunity arises, all he can wish for is having his grief healed.

Cue the Song of Healing Darmani cutscene.

He's surrounded by Gorons, everyone celebrating him. His loved ones assuring him that he _is_ a hero. *_Their_* hero.

And the regretful spirit of Darmani can't help the tears that slip by.

I don't know about you guys, but seeing a member of such a kind, gentle, and perhaps dumb at times species be carrying such sadness, such emotion, just gets to me.

One of the saddest parts to me is that Mikau dies with none of his people realizing it. When you visit Zora Hall with the Zora Mask, everyone just says “Oh, hey Mikau”and carry on like nothing happened. I’ve always wondered how long it takes for the rest of the Zoras to realize he’s gone after Link performs one last concert as Mikau. 😢

What makes this even sadder is when you get the highest score during the milk carraige scene, Cremia just gives Link a hug

Honestly the saddest is getting strangled by the Happy Mask Salesman.

That was the only moment in a videogame that make me say "I need to save these people", nintendo should take more risks in their writing department when it comes to Zelda games

She was looking to protect her little sister.
In saving the world, we give them time.
From the brink, we see as Link the lives we must save. To prevent disaster, we must strive for victory.

Nah the unnamed deku scrub and his father (the butler). Romani and Cremia will end up fine; in fact most people in Termina end up making it out okay. In the ending credits, the butler and his son’s particular story truly represents loss. Especially since the death of his son remains ambiguous.

And then she ends up giving her sister a headache from the drink on the fourth day. And feels awkward about it.

Majora's Mask went full Persona 3 of deepness before Persona 3 was even created.

Imagine if the Hero of Time was actually two people; one child, one adult, passing the baton that is the Master Sword, between times…

For me, the saddest aspect of Majora’s Mask is going through all of those hardships to help the townsfolk but at the end of the 3 day cycle you just revert time back to Day 1. Leaving the ones you have already helped still in distress from Skull Kid and his antics as you continue on your journey bc you already did it in an alternate timeline. The numerous timelines that Link can create just to revert back and scramble to only fix a select few problems instead of EVERYTHING including stopping the moon fall. But that’s just a really hot take.

That is really sad.. and learning the game is about learning to deal with death and grieve, that just makes it hit all that much harder..

Geting her drunk so she can feel or wake up from the pain….

Canonically Romani has a hangover because she wakes up the next day

I can remember 20+ years ago playing Majora for like an hour, and it stuck with me all these years, until i finally got to play it on the switch last year, and God I loved it!😌

Every time I talk to someone about how dark Majora's Mask is, I always use this exact example. It's one of the darkest moments of Zelda in general if not the absolute darkest.

She just accepted her fate 😢 and wanted to spend her last moments with her sister. 😭

Another very sad moment is realizing the Zora's will have zero closure on what happened to Mikau, once Link saves Termina and leaves, to them, Mikau will just have vanished overnight, His band friends, and Lulu, along with the Zora kids, will never know what happened to their friend, implied lover and father, although maybe Link explains the situation before he leaves to go back to hyrule, as he does at least play with them during their concert in the credits, but still, Mikau is gone.
