Want to paint leather on your miniatures? Bad at wet blending? Now you can do both!

In this basic miniature painting how to tutorial we look at how to paint leather using an interesting and simple technique which doesn't require much skill but gives detailed results. Using inks and wet blending you can produce a decent effect quickly. We paint red leather in the video but you can experiment with different coloured inks to produce widely different results.

Is he truly back now? More great stuff! Something fun to try would be oil paints anytime you would wetblend. Even when trying to do it incomplete/poorly on purpose like this, the extra working time and easier blending makes them really fantastic to use.

looks like a great technique to build up some natural texture in the leather, much nicer than the scratchy highlight style I normally try!

Nice way to get some ez texture, I suppose you can futz with the grayscale sketch til you get it how you want without stressing about ruining a bunch of prior steps. Thanks for another great vid Kujo! Now to see if I can resist the temptation to over blend it haha

would you say that scale inks are the best to use? I've just started using an airbrush and have been looking at a few different inks and not sure which would be the best to get for my money.
