Installing OEM windshield on the RMAX XT-R

Wow, I should have got this thing when I purchased the machine! Talk about a GAME CHANGER! So... Follow along with the install of the Yamaha OEM windshield. It was very easy to install and super well made! I 100% recommend getting a windshield, talk about nice!

Good video. I just installed the same one, love it, good quality, seals, and fit. I just got a new 22 RMAX2 1000 XTR, love that machine, my wife is jealous. LOL

I have this windshield on my '21 RMAX4 LE, we do trailer it but the fuel mileage I get on my truck took a hit...LOL The windshield is NOT coming off while being towed around. Our first ride in our RMAX was a rainy stormy day, I was expecting to get somewhat wet. Surprisingly we were relatively dry at the end of the day. There were no leaks anywhere, I am pretty impressed with the windshield so far. I have been toying around with the idea of taking the windshield off during transit and reinstalling at our destination, to get back that fuel mileage. I went from getting 375 miles per tank of gas, to 200...lol. That windshield acts like a big ole drag-chute.

I would like to say I'm very impressed with the Yamaha windshield I have the same one but it folds down first ride with it on road though some tight woods trails with small tree limbs and it looked like it was all scratch up, but when I washed it not a scratch one, it was only the dust that made it look scratch, and boy was I relieved.

Looks like super high quality. Which is unusual for these add on's. The test will be how the plastic holds up to cleaning and dirt. Mostly just water spray I would guess, wiping dirt across that will definitely not be a good thing. A 6 mo follow up would be good. 👍👍 Love the cat.

Yamaha went up on price of the windshield like this one on the website you posted. Went from 282 to 332 bucks plus shipping. I cancelled my order and got superatv instead.

Thanks for sharing. I thought there was a channel in the roof that you'd have to loosen the top, fit the shield in, then screw back down.

Looking forward to see if it scratches when you clean it on the trail. I was thinking a pump sprayer, like a weed or bug sprayer, with some soap and water. The soap will lubricate the windshield enough to use a squeegee. I need to ask, are you getting fumes in the cab without a rear window? Thanks, great accessory for the RMAX.

I just installed the Super ATV one and the instructions state to not use glass cleaner. Might double check your instructions to see if OEM says similar.

Nice install looks good. Now do you have to remove it when trailering it down the road. Is it safe up or down at 75-80 MPH on the back of a trailer? Hate to get one and it blow off the front looks like it only has rubber straps to hold it down when folded down.

I wonder why they have the edges of the windshield protruding off the roll bar like that, seems like it could catch on tree limbs and such

What is the thickness of the windshield? The Super ATV is 1/4 and the EMP is 3/16. Just wondered how this compared to those?

Is this going to fit with the hard cab doors? I’d imagine Yamaha stuff is all cohesive
