10. The National Agricultural Inspection Programme - Ray Cullinane, EPA

The EPA Water Conference 2024 took place on 12 and 13 June, in Galway and online. Speakers shared their knowledge on how to protect & improve water quality in Ireland and showcased case studies from around Ireland.

Speaker: Ray Cullinane, Senior Inspector in the Office of Environmental Enforcement, EPA

Ray Cullinane is a Senior Inspector in the Office of Environmental Enforcement in the EPA. He is leading out on the development and implementation of a newly established National Agricultural Inspection Programme for local authorities. The aim of this programme to achieve a stronger focus on strengthening the level of compliance and enforcement in relation to agricultural pressures on water quality. It involves developing a national risk based inspection plan, guidance, support and training. Ray has worked in a number of offices within the EPA over the past 23 years and holds a BAgrSc, MA (Local Government Management), Dip. EIA Management.
