I am a drummer and singer and bandleader who has worked with many name people. I am so thrilled to read people's comments of appreciation of what they are seeing here in this LIVE performance. There were a handful of singers with the type of "bell clear" intonation of Sam Cooke. A few that come to my mind are Johnny Moore of The Drifters (Under The Boardwalk), Bill Kenny from The Ink Spots, Tony Williams from The Platters, and Rudy West from The 5 Keys. Sam Cooke also had a presence, stride, an inate hipness, charm, and personal appeal that made him irresistible.
