Seems to me the key is getting the items for next to nothing. That way you can compete in pricing. If not, it is HARD to profit after promotions and fees. This is why so many people are quiting ebay and resell in general. Its difficult to do for many. I've sourced in SEVERAL locations and I have found that areas that are wealthier generally render better products to sell online. Areas that aren't generally are just full of junk.

I am doing all that + all the pre-owned items are washed and steamed, I have low shipping fees, I often revise my listings, make changes, and nothing. I think, buyers, in general, have the wrong perception that every reseller is sourcing from bins, garage/yard sales, etc., and their finds cost them a dollar or a few cents. All my listed items cost me usually more than 10$, most of them are new with/without tags, even the vintage items are in mint condition, and I am always on the lookout of unique items. Not only that my average cost is high, but potential buyers make low offers of the low priced items, and I have to find the right middle for me and the buyer, but in the end, my profit is close to a single number. It is impossible to explain to every buyer that most of the prices are high because I have not purchased them a dollar or pennies a piece. And when I think of all the work behind each listing and cross listing ( I cannot invest in tools like Prime Lister, etc.) and the profit, my experience is very very disappointing.

Help! For me, eliminate sourcing. I am downsizing and helping my senior friends declutter their closets and downsizing. So we are selling what we have. Not vintage, just excess. Can you address this? I emphasize wording & photos, cheap pricing, and free returns. I have a 100% rating. To move my stuff, I am focusing on low prices and maybe putting clothes in a lot. That is all for eBay. I can't find answer, we have 250 free listing a month, list say I list 250 this month then next month I have 250 free listing what happen to those listing last month when it renew do I get charge or what
