Loved the course, gives and insightful overview of why one would use event sourcing over traditional state-based databases.

A very layman question - whenever we are increasing the instance of K8 PODs ( which holds Kafka consumer application ) it's directly proportional to number of partitions. If no of Kafka topic partitions are less than active K8 instance some of PODs are logically useless and not in state to consume events.

Is this means we can not increase the K8 PODs or instances greater than number of Kafka topic partitions ?

Plz can anyone correct my understanding
