Runner here - buy shoes that are good for your feet and won’t give you collapsed arches later! I switched recently to wide toe box and zero or low drop and my pain I got from Nikes etc went away within like a week

Nail tech here, if you're between sizes on shoes go a size up and buy inserts to adjust your size. The amount of damage you can do to your feet with too tight shoes is insane, from bunions to your bones. If the tips of your toes rub against the tip of your shoe it's too small and you're going to get callouses.

I love that $160 is actually considered expensive. Sick of seeing its cheap $500 😒

I love how your splurge choices weren’t in the thousands and still a reasonable price Love your videos!

Don’t forget to replace your sports shoes if you run or walk a lot! The more you wear them the faster the soles wear out. I kept telling my dad to replace his. He didn’t listen until he went to the doctor for knee pain and the doctor told him to replace his shoes more often 😂😅

To me, shoes are a must-splurge. Good fit and confort are essential, as well as durability. You don’t get that with cheap shoes

I own a pair of Rockport leather knee high boots with waterproofing. I wore them for 16 days straight (walking approximately 40 miles in them) on a trip to Italy, without breaking them in beforehand. Most comfortable boots ever. Still going strong 4 years later. I also recommend looking for athletic shoes with removable insoles.

I am poor as hell but the one thing thay i splurge on is shoes. Because they are worth it over time. If they aren't leather and immaculate in terms of stitching and fit im not going with them. They need to be extremely durable and very comfortable, and im willing to save up and pay for that. And the leather needs to be real. Plastic will not endure.

Dancer here - if you like to club then buy dance heels. The styles have moved on, and you can find stiletto styles that aren’t different to what fashion retail stores sell. It’s much better on your feet than the mass produced fast fashion options. I notice the difference - my feet last twice as long at parties when I wear my retired dance heels. I think they go for £120-150 a pop but worth it.

Real leather and suede boots are awesome! I was given my grandfather's suede and leather boots and other than a heel replacement they are still getting compliments.

i used to work in a local shoe store and it always bothered me that people would go for the really cheap sneakers only to come in way more often to replace them. they always thought i was trying to “up sell” them when i suggested nicer options. i didn’t make commission!! i was trying to be helpful 😅

The toe boxes on the boots and heels are giving me anxiety. Who has feet that are shaped like that?

My tip for running shoes is to always buy a pair that has leather or cloth across at least a good chunk of the top. Holes of breathable fabric are fine, but basically that plasticy breathable fabric is not durable at all and falls apart after about a year of use, so having a frame of stronger fabric/leather that the shoe is actually relying on will ensure if the breathable stuff wears through it won't tear to the point your whole foot will spill out or whatever, you'll at most have a small tear that won't continue past the fabric/leather frame.

ACTUAL HORROR STORY - I tried cutting corners and getting a cheap pair of brown boots. When they rubbed on my ankle, they broke the skin and gave me THE MOST DISGUSTING PAINFUL OOZING SKIN INFECTION THAT SPREAD UP MY LEG. Learn from me - pay for the real stuff.

This this this! I’m a runner, lifter, love to go clubbing/dancing, and make it my mission to be eco conscious—I have multiple pairs of genuine leather boots, heels, sandals, etc. that I’ve had for 10+ years and only recently paid to have a few of the soles replaced which cost me about $30 each. Also, 1000% agree on splurging for a good pair of running shoes if you’re a runner. I also tend to suffer from over pronation, and if you have even a slight tendency to under or over pronate I would HIGHLY recommend Brooks! They are amazing!

its nice to see rockport because I just saw a pair at a thrift store and wanted to buy it so badly but I didn't have the money for it at the time. When I first saw it I was so amazed since it has the good parts of a rubber shoes and I immediately thought that it was going to be a lot more comfortable wearing those!

My Mom always said to buy the best you can afford for shoes and handbags. I have some handbags that are 30 years old. Leather/suede always. For heels, I have come down to earth. . .1-1/2" heel height at the most. My go to brands are Dansko, Klogs, Cobb Hill, and Brooks.

I generally would say splurge on a few pieces of footware rather than buying a lot of cheap shoes... I don't know about anyone else, but if your feet hurt while walking literally anywhere your're unlikely to be able tl enjoy yourself... If I wanted to save money I'd have like 1 pair of formal shoes and one pair of sneakers because you can wear those with pretty much anything.

I have a pair of loafers for work that i wore everyday in the office without any issues. They are real leather and still hold up well Ive had them since 2015 and wore them almost daily until 2020 (stopped for obvious reasons)

Quality, comfortable shoes are worth the splurge. People really only rotate a few pairs, you don’t need that many.
