Nice attention to detail : the hand holding the phone at the beginning of the video is the man's hand.
At the end, it's the woman's hand that is holding the phone.

You can just talk to a stranger and have them take the photo, even though your ad itself tries to say now we don't have to, but there is nothing wrong with talking to people...

It is called collage. Collage works via disjunction. Disjunction is what it generates..

Dear Google, my concerns about AI photo editing tools are as follows:

1: Copyright and Consent Violations.

There is a risk of manipulating the images of celebrities, artists, politicians, and other public figures without their consent. This could lead to copyright infringement, slander, damage to reputations and careers, or even legal issues that threaten national stability. Proper safeguards are needed to prevent such misuse.

2: Spread of Misinformation and Deepfakes.

The ease of creating convincing fake images using AI raises concerns about the blurring of the line between reality and fabrication. Manipulated images could be used to mislead and spread misinformation, as seen with recent deepfake examples. This erodes trust in digital content.

3: Altering Personal Memories.

Heavily editing photos and videos could lead to distorted memories and a loss of the original meaning and essence of captured moments over time. While some editing is natural, AI tools make it too easy to fabricate "perfect" memories that never truly happened.

4: Lack of Transparency and Consent.

There are questions around transparency and consent when it comes to using AI to alter people's appearances in photos, even if the intent is to improve the image. People may not be aware their face or expressions are being composited from multiple shots.

While these AI tools have creative potential, Google must prioritize responsible development with strong safeguards. Clear policies, user controls, and transparency are needed to prevent misuse and protect individual rights. As the technology advances, we must carefully consider the ethical implications and long-term societal impacts.

A self-timer is a device on a camera that gives a delay between pressing the shutter release and the shutter's firing. It is most commonly used to allow the photographer to take a photo of themselves (often with a group of other people), hence the name.

(Robert Faries: Shutter tripper for Camera's, US Patent 690, 939, January 14, 1902.)
