This is the $92k Jetson ONE
That’s right, a company called Jetson has built a small helicopter. It is called the ONE; a ‘vertical take-off and landing’ vehicle.

Jetson says it can fly for a full 20 minutes with an 85kg pilot onboard on single recharge at a top-flight speed of 64mph (102kmph). The speed is limited by software for safety. It is powered by a high-discharge lithium-ion battery. The aircraft will carry a ballistic parachute with a rapid deployment time for emergencies.

The Jetson ONE is an electric helicopter that you can own and fly

It might not revolutionize personal transportation but it will definitely give you a fun ride.

For less than 50k you can get real helicopters

The cheapest helicopter on the market is the Composite-FX XE, an even lighter version of the popular Composite-FX XE 290. When you buy this helicopter as a kit, you will only have to pay $46, 000. You also have the option to buy it factory finished for $59, 000. Since the Composite-FX XE is so small, the FAA classifies it as Part 103 ultra-light aircraft. You can buy and assemble the kit without a pilot’s license!

It's even more expensive now. It's an $8k deposit with a final purchase price of $120k. In their defense, the motors, ESC, and propellers are about $55k alone (if purchasing from a company like T-Motors). But I'd still rather construct my own for about $70k than pay $130k for this one. Plus I could make it large enough to seat two and add guards to the propellers. This was a great inspiration though!

Gotta give these like 5-10 years and they’ll be way better, blades that close to pilot is scary as well

This is the first electric vehicle that actually speaks to me as someone who don't want to own a car without a manual transmission.

92k for 20 minutes of flight? Rather get a paramoter for a fraction of the price. Flys many times longer, can safely fly higher, and if the engine fails the parachute is already deployed. Maybe when longer lasting and more powerful compact battery technology comes along this thing can be more viable.

I've seen in every video that they don't fly above 30m
What's the use of the parashute if no one's gonna fly high enough

If they could get the flight time up to at the very least an hour you could actually use this more practically. Perhaps team up with Tesla or Tesla make their own so you can use the super chargers that they put out places.

I heard all electric and short time for fun, I’m sold! Would be a nice little toy to use on days off.
