The biggest mistake people make when choosing or comparing amps is basing their sound on lead tones. Even an Uberschall can be rivaled if using the right pick-up and distortion pedal. Playing chords/rhythm tones WITHOUT a distortion pedal is how you decide which amp you like. The goal of a boutique/high-end amplifier is to produce tons of quality distortion while allowing each note of the chord to be heard distinctly while strummed. The Uberschall is the best I've played or ever heard.

Yeah this is the twin jet.
I have one myself, and the clean channel actually is quite impressive. You might not get same cleans as say a JVM but that's not really what this amp is for.
This is a VERY heavy sounding beast

@xtreme8012 I've playing the "old" uberschall also, and to be perfectly honest, for metal the twin jet kills the original.
Its just a lot heavier, but also tighter.
But KT88s and el34s both put out completely different tones, so it depends on what you prefer

@777MADJ of course! If you get a cheap poweramp, it will work the same as an amplifier! I've owned many amps and the axe fx beats them all hands down. I love it!

@device9 a vintage marshall is not a heavy amp to the slightest.
ive owned a marshall JVM, which i got rid of for this. Best choice ever made on my part

I've recorded an album with both amps side by side through the same cab/rig. (It was a high end studio). They're close, but the Uberschall is undeniably superior.

This is an 8-string directly into the amp. Without a tubescreamer to tighten up the lower end, there isn't any amp in the world able to produce quality town that low.
