Overlanding Armenia // Disputed Lands

This week was a busy one as we started our journey back North in Armenia, passing by the village of Karki, an enclave of Azerbaijan, de facto under the control of Armenia.

We also visited Knor virap monastery, which began life as a castle and royal dungeon! And the Geghard monastery is a medieval monastery, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Most importantly this week though we visited the Armenian Genocide museum, whose mission is rooted in the understanding that the Armenian Genocide is important in preventing similar future tragedies, and in keeping with the notion that those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.

And finally, Quba Mêrê Dîwanê is the world's largest Yazidi temple.

Finally caught up with this video and there is another new one to watch. You covered some fantastic locations but the little church was my favourite. The basalt cliffs were amazing, a shame they weren't free.

Thanks Craig, I've finally seen the real mith in life, a Leyland Daf ex-military truck actually overtake another vehicle.
I best explain i used to drive them in the military and they were as guttless as hell, well until we took the bolt from under the excelarator pedal.

Fabulous video Both. Totally agree with you regarding the pagon temple, I'd rather visit that little ancient church anyday. It looked absolutely stunning. Yes we do need to remember history.
