Cargo Cult Mentality Explained - ROBERT SEPEHR

The term "cargo cult" was introduced to the field of anthropology during and after World War II. Since the modern manufacturing process is unknown to them, members, leaders, and prophets of the cults maintain that the manufactured goods of the non-native culture have been created by spiritual means, such as through their deities and ancestors. Its an indigenist millenarian belief system, often characterized as one in which adherents perform rituals which they believe will cause their deities, ancestors, or a more technologically advanced society to deliver goods.

There's still cargo cults all throughout the United States in places like Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, and Memphis.

A yachtsman and his squeeze landed in that corner of earth back in the '80's. Villagers surrounded him, asking, "Are you John Frum?" He knew then he was out of his element.

His squeeze shot photos from a safe distance. Somehow the yachtsman talked his way out of that very tense situation. Back at their boat they developed the pictures. To their horror, the men surrounding him were holding knives behind their backs.
This story was published, if memory serves, in a NW sailing magazine called 48° North (I hope I'm right. It's been awhile).

Thanks for this powerful video. Truly "Life and death are in the power of the tongue; he who loves it will eat fruit thereof." Either that, or leave it for someone else to eat.

Never wouldve thought modern black America culture and perception would align similarly to cargo cults. But here we are.

The Egyptians made a clear distinction in their paintings between themselves and the Nubians

It’s insane this never gets commented in other academic platforms. Never have I heard of it, yet it’s there. It’s real. Now if we talk about ancient myths, scientific community says it’s all made-up and not to be studied seriously.

A fascinating study of an arrested culture and what happened when it encountered a much more advanced one. They lacked the ability to adopt and manufacture the technology, so they copied it in effigy, apparently attached to ancestor worship, and I detected a sympathetic magic element.

Possibly the most hard hitting document amongst all that Robert produced so far. Says it all without saying too much.

If they only knew they could just migrate to "paradise" and steal those items directly from store shelves and call it reparations.
Also those mumies have interesting beaks.

The lengths to which some people will practice denial of their own state of affairs, which is their own doing, instead of facing reality and bettering themselves, knows no bounds.

Cargo cults are basically Materialism without the money.
But whether it's a cargo cult or materialism; it is still religious belief that the acquisition of many possessions will bring fulfillment.

I am ethnically melanesian and I am not at all offended by this. The reality is tribalism is a big problem amongst us and often times these tribes a have a spiritual leader that runs this racket where people bring them offerings. If they become christians then the local pastor takes over this role, "buy me a tv so Jesus can save you!". Also blaming something or someone is part of the tricks they play to get you to go along whether it be the white man or your sins that you have committed.

The funny thing is although the western world sees these cargo cults as backwards and primitive, if you take away the technology, westerners are much more similar to them then they would like to admit.

I had a really precise feeling of melancholy while watching the tribespeople mimicking what they saw…..it’s a clearer picture of reality than trying to intellectually grasp the utterly deceitful nature of our NWO manufactured claptrap fairytale of “out of Africa “ .

Thanks Robert, for being honest.

Im 45 years old and I just learned of the Cargo Cult a few months ago from Praveen Mohan. Was excited when I saw Robert cover this subject more in depth. Nicely done, very thought provoking.
