People who haven’t watched 76er games don’t realise Embiid has been battling this injury for months now, he has been grabbing at his hand and taping it up for majority of the games this season

He dropped 26 in the second half and OT with that so I’m not too worried

He’s fine, this is just the media trying to make something.

They all said Toronto would make this a series and now they’re praying this is serious so the Sixers are eliminated next series…they are all clowns, he’s fine.

Embiids thumb is fine. It's a chess move. They want the heat to wack at his thumb so he can draw more fouls

I have wanted the NBA to reduce the amount of games for years now. Obviously more games means more ticket sales and TV time slots, but it also means more injury potential and a little bit less excitement (in my opinion). I think the NFL season is 10x more entertaining than the NBA season because each game matters a lot more. You can only lose so many games in a 17 game season and still be relevant enough for the playoffs.

I also kind of miss the first round being a best of 5 instead of 7. It also made for a lot more excitement, and it made some of those boring 1v8 sweeps a lot faster.

Stephen A is a certified Sixers hater who hides behind his “17 years” of work in Philly. You can hear the joy in his voice, declaring (prematurely) the Sixers season over. Hope they smack the Heat and ruin his summer

It’s always the stars.. Prayers for Joel he’s been playing amazing. SAS is counting out philly vs miami when Philly’s bench led by Tyrese Maxey beat Miami’s starting 5 last time they played. I wouldn’t count them out.

Think that last shot showed it didn’t impact anything. He’s a big boy he can deal with a thumb problem, if it was a lower body injury or a shoulder injury I’d be worried, but the thumb on the shooting hand is just a guide anyway the index is the most important followed by middle then ring, if he needs to tape it up to make it stationary then he’ll have to get used to shooting like that but it’s not devastating. If it were his index I’d be really worried but a little pregame Toradol if that’s what they still use or cortisone and it will maybe impact him on a shot or 2 but he’s fine. This headline had me really worried something happened at practice where it was a knockout blow and obv the title is correct it’s over for us if he’s out. Not worried yet.

It's true that when top players on contending teams are getting injured it severely diminishes my interest in the playoffs. And i know i'm not the only one.

We've been watching these teams perform all season long, to finally see them square off at full strength in the playoffs, only to see star players dropping out one by one... it's just not the same.

Nothing makes me feel more reassured as a Sixers fan than Stephan A saying we’re done for

It's soo funny, now the sixers up 3-0 its " we expect them to sweep " but last week it was " Sixers are in trouble against Toronto, they don't match up well " stop the cap. Sixers and Embiid are just better

Its just a minor injury, nothing to get to worked up about

Nah, every single season there’s been injuries in the playoffs, Kyrie and Love in 15, Bogut and Iggy in 16, Kawhi in 17, CP3 in 18, KD and Klay in 19, the whole league in 2020, a lot of players in 21 y now a fair amount of players this year…

Embiid will be fine he already had the thumb problem that's why it's been taped with his wrist

NBA teams play between 14-16 back-to-back games each season, which is approximately 17-21% of their total games. Why not extend the regular season by three weeks?

Embiid is built different. He'll play until the end and will remain at an MVP level
