As a Liverpool fan I’m shocked how much flak Arteta has been getting lately. Some Gooners have very short memories. He’s taken the club far from where you were. You’re now genuine contenders and getting top four consistently. Utd have spent more and still haven’t improved in the same time. Just because you’ve come very close the last two years doesn’t mean you should be winning it. Liverpool and City have bigger and better squads with players who’ve won the big trophies and it’s not easy competing with them.

We lack squad depth this season which shows N. Forest in the 3rd position. Edu had some good signings in the past, and maybe he enjoy a new challenge and I wish him good luck! And to get the most out of the team we might consider a new coach next season like Xavi if we dont challenge for any major trophies like Premier and UCL.

TBH..this is good news. Edu has a)never gotten value for outgoing transfers, b) never closed quality transfers, c)brought in subpar brazilian/chelsea players and d) those transfers that he did (Rice) we overpaid for...the new sporting director should want to make an impression and make a big signing..COYG
