Some fun tips that I used when I was in a similar position:
-sneak makeup to school and wash it off before you go home (as long as you avoid it during school pictures and your sister doesn’t go to the same schools it should be fine)
-join a theater group where you can get away with wearing a little bit of stage makeup
-stay over at friends houses and do makeovers on each other
-find good places to hide makeup products in your room and put it on at night when your family’s asleep

PRO TIP IF YOURE IN THE CLOSET AND YOUR PARENTS CHECK YOUR PHONE: Make another google account. Make new social media accounts on that google account. Fill thise accounts with generic or "safe" media that your parents wont care about (fill it with a few things you actually like, you'll have to spend at least some time on there to make it believable). You can switch to your main accounts where your parents cant reach you and you can switch back to the safe accounts when you get home.

Im a mom of 3, a boy amd 2 girls. Im the "cool mom" and all my kids know i will love and accept them NO MATTER WHAT. But it breaks my heart bc i KNOW my son isnt being his true authentic self. 😢 idk why he wont open up to me. Ive known since he was little that he wasn't straight but to hear him talk about gay ppl the way he does is heartbreaking. Its like he despises himself for feeling this way. 100% agree!
If sb put you in a boring, depressing habitat, as a human you can at least transform some parts of that. You can get subtle stuff that you can get away with, like I have pins from etsy on my bag that are just hearts and animals, but people who know will see the color combination and know.
