First time listened to this gem while on a bus from work when I was studying in Australia. It was 1am and raining mildly and this song fits perfectly to the environment vibe I'm in. Now, listened to this again for the first time and it gives me those nostalgic moments back then.

When I listened to the first few repeats of this song, I thought of a bedroom that's filled with trees and wildlife. Birds singing, insects buzzing, dew drops falling, even flowers blooming. In the center of that bedroom is a bright green bed (similar to the vibrant green of the venus flytrap), and upon that bed is a man laying motionless on top of a woman in red. He looks relaxed as he lets her hold him, her hands embracing his frame, her fingers intertwining, her nails painted green, alluding to the delicately thin yet strong grip of the venus flytrap's clasp. He doesn't move. He's just.... there; on top of her as she pulls him in further. She tightens her grip, draining away his sense of wakefulness; and he succumbs to it. His eyes are slowly—ever so slowly—drifting shut. When the song is almost at its end, she nimbly opens up her arms again, and he's no longer awake.

I kind of see it as falling asleep in the embrace of a woman and wanting to stay there forever. I guess, it's the visuals and emotions that I got from the lyrics. Don't get me wrong tho, I absolutely love this music video. The aesthetics, the colors, the elements, that one big daddy man in white laying on the sofa whilst singing. Ugh 😩👌. Perfection.

Anyway, my point is, I love this song so much that it just makes me want to seduce someone with (reasonably) fluent Haiku and embrace the heck outta them until they fall asleep lol.

This song is such a lovely masterpiece, I have a new vision on love every time I hear it. I'm realizing every time you fall in love, you die because the person you were before you met that person is gone and will never return, is that not death? So if you die every time love comes knocking, this song is about the pleasure and good feelings of being in love and being ok and readily accepting that death.
