How to Record and Play Back Mouse Activity in macOS

You can use Automator and other free software to record and play back your mouse moves for repetitive actions. Automator's great, but here we also offer an alternative, MurGaa Recorder, which makes the whole process a little bit more user-friendly.

Nice tutorial, but i'm looking to replace QuicKeys. I need the automation to ACT ONLY FROM WITHIN a SPECIFIC MAC APPLICATION. These MurGaa and Automator programs don't do that. NOR do they assign the various recorded actions to a Shortcut Key commands. Any other programs that do this?? Thank you

Great video! Has anyone experienced any issues using Chrome with Automator? I'm getting an error that says "the action 'watch me do' encountered an error: 'application chrome is not running when it is expected to'. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How do i make it so it does the sequence infinitely? When I record the sequence 2 times it does the sequence 2 times too, how can I make it so it does it infinitely until I stop it my self? on automater.

The built in Mac software is terrible. I couldn't find any key binds to stop the recording which is essential in a mouse macro or you have to fight against it to try and click the stop button. Ontop of that its not very accurate so if your trying to set the macro to click small targets it can miss quit easily. Also it looks like the mouse is lagging all over the place.

Edit: I have just tested the murkaa recorder and its perfect. It has custom key binds, mouse movement is fluent with no lag. Save and load option. Custom amount of loops (Times the script is played before stopped)
It is really simple to use and does the job perfectly and the file size isn't big at all.

For some reason when I use murgaa, after every playback the mouse becomes slightly off, and after lots of playbacks, the mouse is completely off target.

Can i use this with web pages changing? everytime i try it fails on the first click, because it records the link of the website and in this case the url is changing constantly

when i play back a recording in murgaa and the sequence repeats the second time, the cursor doesn't return to its original location and picks up and starts the sequence where it left off at the end of the recording so it is difficult to repeat for very long. Is there a setting which I can use to fix this?
