It's interesting he says that "at home, you will be unsupervised and can pet the dog, " as if having some personal freedom is a negative thing, yet spends his entire day writing answers on Quora.

"I'm miserable so everyone else should be too! Trying to make your work environment better for yourself and others is selfish."

It astounds me how people like him never understand that he is voluntarily imprisoning himself, never question the bigger picture of life and instead just be proud of enduring the ridiculous hardship that he went through

This guy certainly seems like a fun individual.

This guy is your arch-nemesis. I'd pay to see a live stream where you interview him, it would be lightning in a bottle.

Is the family he apparently never sees aware of how much time he spends on Quora? Is his company aware?

So, he'd rather have his employees working on Holidays instead spending time with friends and family? What a scrouge!

This guy fails to understand that employment is a two way agreement.

the dude graduated in 1962. So he is about 70-ish. He might be very well retired and just wasting time on Quora.

I died when he compared the job offer scenario with agreeing to marrying someone 😂😂😂😂😂

This guy literally likened being employed at a company with marrying the person you love.

As soon as one adult refers to another adult's mother as "mommy" I immediately throw their opinion in the trash. What sane, non-manipulative person does that? 😂

Editing to add, I once quit a crud job to go to a different company, and while I was getting ready to drive in on my first day, they called and said they could no longer afford my position, and just like that I didn't have a job. Always look out for yourself and your interests first.

i had a similar thing where i had a vacation already planned and started a new job. i just told them that she needs to agree on that vacation before i'll sign. HR complained about "what will the rest of the team think". i honestly dgaf what they think. they should go on vacation too. boss approved it and it was all ok.

What a model employee. If i was hiring i'd hire this guy in a heartbeat. He would let you walk all over him without any compensation.

Translation of Boomers: We don’t compete for talent, talent competes for us!

Then they wonder why there’s a high turnover, or go to any excuse other than themselves.

This guy is such a meme that I doubt his existence. I went snooping around quora to see some of his answers, and it gets a lot better than what’s in this video:

A user asked “What should be the raise in salary that makes it worth to change the work? Assume other factors are approximately identical, and the same city”

To which he answered that you should never change jobs just for money. And even coined a term, “wage whoring”. Then went on a huge rant explaining why “wage whoring” is wrong, immoral, and will hurt you in the long run. He even said that a consequence of “wage whoring” is lifestyle creep.

Sorry Kent, but just as employers are for-profit organizations, so are employees. Especially in these times, when prices on literally everything are going up on a daily basis. So if you work at the same job for the same salary, as you were 1 year ago, you are effectively making 10% less. Which is why people are quitting and finding better opportunities at record numbers. It’s a 2-way street, Kent.

I will always remember when I was in a sales job, and the national sales manager at this company was doing our training session and he went into this story about how he was sent here to Australia (from the UK) leaving his wife and kids behind and originally supposed to be only for 6 weeks but now has been here for 8 months "but that is the sacrifice I'm happy to make for my career with this company -and it's totally worth it - so keep in mind you may need to make similar commitments"

Me, a happily married man with (at the time) a 3 year old kid: yeah, umm, no.

I was out of there in less than 3 months lol.
