Gottlieb: FDA's new guidelines are in line with expectations

The FDA said it plans to release stricter guidelines on vaccine emergency use authorization. Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former FDA commissioner, joins 'Closing Bell' to discuss.

It would be helpful if Dr Gottlieb double-checked those "standards the FDA provides vaccine developers such as those he's on the boards of" to make sure the standards are indeed the "same gold standards that people trust in vaccines" because what isn't trustworthy is the musical chairs leadership that hallmarks this administration (i.e. Has anyone heard from the surgeon general lately? And is Dr Birx on the vaccine vaudeville road now? And what space ship is Scott Atlas coming up with his advisories?) All of which trickles down to the neighborhood CVS were ordinary civilians decide to or not to get a Covid vaccine! Maybe before the next Squawk and Face the Nation, Dr Gottlieb would be so good as to check those guidelines for us listeners. If a vaccine were to get rushed through the process, I would think Board Members could be held responsible for harm caused by such vaccines and pleading ignorance of changed or FDA guidelines designed to rush vaccines to market would not be very responsible at the least. U.S. citizens are having to carefully try to discern directives coming out of the CDC, HHS, and FDA. Dr. Gottlieb along with a few others such as Dr. John Campbell, and Dr. Fauci (though he's exceedingly measured in his speech) have been helpful to try to discern fact from folly. Dr. Redfield seems to be recovering from his earlier reticence to more robust yays and nays people can comprehend and trust.
