As an England fan I have no problem with youthful exuberance & confidence from Sam Konstas, but it's often drifted towards obnoxious and cringey behaviour. He was more annoying and lippy than Marnus in around the bat last test which I thought was impossible.
Seems to be overcompensating. Let the bat do the talking, and be careful who you sledge, you don't want to give a bowler like Bumrah even more motivation and I doubt your teammates are pleased about that

As an Indian fan, I'm surprising myself. I completely disagree with Higgins around the 26:05 mark about Konstas not taking on the opposition's best bowler on the first delivery.

If India had Konstas as our opener, I'd definitely want the player to smack Cummins for an opening ball boundary. If they've the talent, back 'em and let them smash. The target is 'only' 185 anyway. He didn't need to tell Bumrah to "go back to your mark" or interfere when the bowler raised a complaint with the umpire. Everyone knows why Khawaja's doing it -- heck everyone's done it. Bumrah was just annoyed because he wanted the wicket that badly.

I'd say the entire Indian team screaming in his face could've been evaded. I can understand Bumrah, the only consistent member of the team, getting fired up. Guys like the one who shouldered a debutant last match and continues to fish outside off-stump should focus on getting us the win.

Edit - odd you said Bumrah was the instigator. Clearly, the instigator was Konstas when standing on the non-striker's end. I can understand Sam's response around the 29:11 that maybe that wasn't Konstas' role in the team.

P.S - Having said all that, those last few minutes was pure entertainment.

Sam Konstas is an absolute chopper 😂. What Kohli did in the last test wasn't on, however Konstas deserved everything he got today. If you are going to give it then you have to be able to take the chirp the other way!

It was obvious Khawaja was making sure there was absolutely no chance of another over being squeezed in(fair enough). And Konstas just didn't have to say anything to him at the non strikers end, Konstas is trying hard to play the part of the young maverick who fears nothing but is increasingly coming across as a prick!

Am I the only one who has no problem with the aggression from either side? There’re other spots that are much more aggressive. Just shows the passion and desire to win. And I genuinely don’t think Konstas is arrogant, seems more like he feels the need to stand up for his teammate.
