Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα της ελληνικής ειδησεογραφικής ιστοσελίδας Πρώτο Θέμα, το οποίο έχει ως πηγή του την εφημερίδα Ouest-France, ο υφυπουργός Ευρωπαϊκών Υποθέσεων της Γαλλίας Κλεμάν Μπον, σε συνέντευξη που παραχώρησε στην συγκεκριμένη εφημερίδα, ανέφερε ότι: "Όταν ένα κράτος-μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης απειλείται, οφείλουμε να το στηρίξουμε γρήγορα και αποφασιστικά. Η Γαλλία υπερασπίζεται την ευρωπαϊκή κυριαρχία."

According to an article in the Greek news website Proto Thema, which has as its source the newspaper Ouest-France, the Deputy Minister of European Affairs of France, Clément Beaune, in an interview given to the specific newspaper, stated that: "When a Member State of the European Union is threatened, we owe to support it quickly and decisively. France is defending European sovereignty."
