A simple song to help our gamer pals get through all this 2020 mess. Being in a lockdown is not something even hardcore gamers are used to, but we have to make it through for our love ones and ourselves. And we will. Just take care and #stayhome, alright? Legend of Zelda, The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Dishonored 2, Half Life Alyx, The Last of Us... how many other references you can find in the song and in the video? Leave a comment!

As an introverted, socially anxious, easily stimuli-overwhelmed person who dislikes going out, hates driving, doesn't work well with strangers (or large gatherings), and loves staying inside but wasn't able to do so with work and college, I LOVED quarantine. It was the best year in a long time, and I miss it dearly. Some people joked about that, but I genuinely loved everything about it. My college went into chaos-mode because it wasn't prepared for remote learning (and neither were the professors), I was able to teach myself Calculus with internet guides and youtube tutorials instead of having a professor force me into group projects for 2 hours everyday (although he was still earning his paycheck sharing the occasional youtube link, a few of which were completely unrelated to our homework that he found somewhere online). Then, when I did have to go out to get groceries or whatever, everyone was required to remain 6 feet away from me and stop breathing down my neck like a bunch of serial killers.

Remote banking, learning, work, shopping, and everything was made easier, and everyone's efficiency and comfort was improved simultaneously as a result. Also, you know, nobody was getting sick. I didn't even have to shovel my driveway because I never used it because I didn't have to go anywhere! I also liked wearing a mask; it was comfortable, it partially hid my facial twitches, my breath kept my face warm in the cold weather, and it even gave me an excuse to ask what someone said (I normally have trouble understanding verbal speech, but asking someone to repeat themselves often makes them irritable and sometimes angry. Now, they laughed and said, "right? I hate these masks!") There were more reasons to love quarantine, I'm sure, but these are the ones that popped into my head.

All the while, everyone I knew was complaining about how we're living in the worst year ever, like it was a military dictatorship, or an apocalypse, comparing it to The Walking Dead because they had to put a piece of cloth over their mouth and stand a person's height away from one another. They also became addicted to toilet paper, apparently, which only raises more questions. It was like Ragnarok for these people.

This is such a beautiful time-capsule. Back when it came out, all the absolute craziness surrounding the pandemic made it feel like an enormous deal and one that was here to stay, potentially forever. Fast forward two years, and practically nobody's giving a damn anymore. That was it. And now, there's two years' worth of memes about quarantines, masks, hand sanitizers, and toilet paper shortages that future generations will scratch their heads over.

Remember when a deadly virus that caused the entire world to go on lockdown was the only thing we were worried about? I miss those times.

Listening to this song, I realized that the world will never return to what it was pre-pandemic.
