Never thought about it like this but feeding turkey corn all year, then shooting it over the bait is illegal about everywhere but planting a feed crop isn’t, pre close to the same thing.

The rye is coming from those food plot mixes. My yard was stripped by bulldozer and nothing grew. I planted three or four clover mixes and the first year it was great. Put a different food plot mix in and I've had nothing but rye since then. Soil never disturbed. I broadcasted. The bag says there is rye in it. I suspect more than what they say. It don't take a lot for it to take over.
