Link to "This Video is Controversial" mentioned on this video.

I have been (OCCASIONALLY) using vague titles on my videos instead of using fully descriptive titles and thumbnails that tell you exactly what the video is about. Here is why.

In the vast landscape of online video content, history-focused YouTube channels have carved out a significant niche. These channels serve a crucial role in making historical knowledge accessible, engaging, and relevant to a wide audience.

History-themed content on YouTube has found success for several reasons:

YouTube's format allows creators to blend narration with visuals, maps, and reenactments, making complex historical events more comprehensible and engaging.
Unlike traditional academic settings, YouTube offers free, on-demand access to historical content, breaking down barriers to learning.
Content creators can explore niche topics or offer alternative viewpoints that might not receive attention in mainstream media or textbooks.
The platform's comment section enables viewers to discuss, debate, and ask questions, fostering a community of history enthusiasts.

Creating history content on YouTube comes with unique challenges:

Creators must ensure their content is well-researched and factually accurate, often requiring extensive background work.
While making content engaging, creators must avoid oversimplification or sensationalism that could distort historical understanding.
Many historical events are controversial or traumatic. Creators must handle these subjects with sensitivity and context.
Using historical footage or images requires careful navigation of copyright laws and fair use principles.

Impact and Future Prospects
History-focused YouTube channels have the power to spark interest in the past, promote critical thinking, and even influence public discourse on historical and contemporary issues. As the platform evolves, we can expect to see more innovative approaches to presenting history, potentially including virtual reality experiences or interactive timelines.
In conclusion, YouTube content creation about history represents a powerful tool for education and engagement. It offers creators the opportunity to share their passion for the past while providing viewers with accessible, engaging, and thought-provoking historical content.

Love all your types of videos. Impressed you’re even explaining this… this is a small but loud minority.

Bro you’re so good. The internet is a childish place. Most of the haters probably dont even regularly watch your content. The algorithm tends to push what could be considered rage bait to people who wanna be upset. We’ve had our differences but i still love your content

I don't mind the controversial stuff, I mind the people who mind the controversial stuff. I can understand a person being offended to a new creator or their content if they didn't know what they were getting themselves into when they clicked it. What I CANNOT understand are all these habitual masochists, who in their post-coital clarity, feel the need to now attack you or your content now that they are done with it.

Oh yeah the Home pages on content creator accounts. The system is set up, it seems, to preview the best of the channels no matter how old the video is. For example, on your home page, "Women in Armour - What Did Their Armours Look Like?" 1.5 million views 9 years ago is the first video being shown. All the homepage videos are 9-8 years ago. You have to actually click on the VIDEO tab to show the list of current uploads.

The main problem with topical exposure is that most people subscribe to creators, not topics. So when youtube tries to recommend videos of the same topic from a bunch of other channels, that process floods you with more content of a topic that isn't an actual interest, thereby it entirely misinterprets and misrepresents you as a person, who decided to see what YOU specifically have to say about something.

So I have to actively delete content out of my watch history I do not want to see recommendations of, because the option to not recommend videos based on something you already watched has been removed from the "Not interested" selection years ago. If you ask me, that was an even bigger mistake than removing dislikes. 90% of my home feed is irrelevant content and I can't even delete all my history, because then 90% of it will be things I already watched, so I'd be exchanging one sort of irrelevance, with another. YT has gone to s...

The people complaining that you only make controversial videos probably don’t use the subscription page.

Even if your thumbnails were blank, I would still watch every episode

Complaining about Metatron's style of presenting Youtube videos? Seems like a skill issue.

Sadly this is the result of working within the beast known as YouTube. Regular stuff just gets pushed aside and clickbait stuff gets pushed to the front. I've seen this happen a lot with creators I enjoy. Do what you gotta do to pay the bills Metatron. ^-^

Personally, I don't understand why many people don't use the Subscriptions page to check what new videos the channels they are subscribed to have posted. I check the Subscriptions page daily, so I never miss what videos my channels have posted. Relying on the Home page doesn't work at all the way YouTube works nowadays. I just use the Home page to see if YouTube might recommend something similar to what I have recently watched or something completely new that might interest me.

I'm a YouTube Premium member, so I don't see any ads (IDK if you run ads). From what the fineprint of being a YT Prem user, you actually get more "adsense" revenue due to my premium membership. So, say you normally get a penny per ad-roll, you get two pennies from my view even though I don't see any ads.
It's a YouTube bonus for CCs to make up for the fact I don't see any ads... a win-win situation.
I hope and pray that your channel remains a success. I'm simply waiting for the "1M" to show up in the number of subs you have. Take care and God bless!

...I really don't get why apparently no one uses the subscriptions page so creators have to worry about the algorithm.
Edit: Also why would I not watch a video of less than 18 minutes to the end?

The authors of the “moderation” algorithm seem to have no respect for actual history as opposed to current politics. Discussing a historical figure as a bad example seems to hit the same keyword programs as endorsing the same person.

People look at their homepage/feed more than actually visiting a channel. Personally, I’m not one of these people..! And I’ve often browsed the channel for videos I haven’t seen yet.

I love your debunking or correcting videos. Those that are revising, rewriting history for whatever reason need to be called out. I appreciate all of your videos, but I really enjoy it when you nail those bast**ds!
