How to play Patience/Solitaire

You're never bored if you have a pack of cards and a flat surface. This is just one of so many games/things you can do when no one's available to join in a gam,e.

WHAT YOU NEED:
A full pack of 52 cards (without the jokers, blank cards or information cards)
A flat surface (table or floor)

WHAT YOU DO:
Shuffle the cards well then gather them together in pile and lay them out in rows. The first row starts with the card from the top of the pile and is followed by 6 cards face down.
The next row starts on the second column. Place a card facing up then the rest of the row is made up of cards facing down, The third row starts with a card facing up, on the third column and then four cards facing down, and so on. Repeat across all the columns of cards until the 7th row is one single card facing up in the 7th column which has 6 cards facing down, above it.
Hold the remaining cards, in a pile, in your hand.

TO PLAY
The idea of the game is to create four foundation piles, above the rows and columns, starting with the Ace of each suit and finishing with the King of each suit.
The cards can be moved within the rows, in order of descending (lower) value of the number - the King of each suit having the highest value, ie King, Queen, Jack, 10,9,8,7...
You may only place cards of a different colour on a card of a higher value ie you can only put a red Queen on a black King, and so on.
A King is the only card that can be moved into an empty column, once all the other cards have been moved.
If you can't move any of the cards in the layout, or once any moves have been made, turn over the top three cards in your hand and create a discard pile. If the card on top of the discard pile can be moved (an Ace goes to create a foundation pile above the layout or a card of a lower value to a column with a card of the next higher value; in a different colour) do so. Once any moves have been made turn over the next three cards.
Remember to check across the layout each time a move is made, as it may open up other options across the layout.

THE GAME FINISHES
When all the cards are in the correct order (Ace to King) in their correct suit (Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, Clubs) in the foundation packs at the top of the latyout.
Or
You are unable to move any of the cards in the layout, or the pile in your hand.
When either happens, reshuffle the cards and start again!
