I was NOT expecting such an honest and down-to-earth interview here. Even when Sam gives him the opportunity to be modest he rebuffs that and chooses to be forthright about celebrity culture and how everyone has a small part of themselves that seek it out. Very refreshing. Well done Andrew.

His self awareness is refreshing in the world of film and theatrics

"The God in the room is the story." - I love this. Andrew is very self-aware of the culture he's part of. Always liked this dude.

That is one of the realest interviews I have ever seen. Such honesty and insight from Andrew. Love it.

I'm just glad that the failing of the Amazing Spider-Man movie series did not end up affecting his career as an actor. He's still got a lot to give and look forward to see him in future projects.

Things like this are why I have picked up journalism as a major. I am a storyteller and I want to have conversations with different characters. I want to get into the minds of creators and performers, scientists and travellers. I want to get to know humanity bit by bit by asking these kinds of questions that actually give good ground for a conversation to grow and blossom. Interviews are the art of talking, communicating infront of an audience. In this act all of the performers benefit so much from each other by just merely being human and being honest about it. I don't want to ask questions like ''so why did you break up'' or ''what did you think about your sex scene''. I want things like that. People should look for this.

The is the main reason why Andrew Garfield doesnt want to have any official social media accounts.
What a respectable actor, humblest down to earth and just wanted to live his life by giving people his service through acting.
He is one of those rare gems in this fame-chasing industry.

Saw Andrew in LA and he asked my wife and I for a photo of us hahah. Seems like they were playing a inside game with their friends. This was after he finished shooting the first Spider man! Crazy how genuine he was! Saw Emma there too and my god she was a beauty.

Sam, just awesome to see how you extract the most epic stories out of the people. Not just the prep but your responses/summaries. It's art man.

Andrew is basically describing parasocial relationships here as far as why w/ movie stars it's different and doing these interviews and things like that makes it worse. He's right though with theatre it is totally just about the play and the character and I think that is because people tend to become more fans of the play itself and not so much who is in it. Plays get redone over and over and over again (how many times has Hamlet been done) so people are just there for that experience and what interpretation is the actor/tress going to bring. Not to mention it helps that there is usually a meet & greet right after the performance (especially w/ smaller plays) so people don't get to associate people so much with their character or their celebrity but as a real person playing a part as a job.

That was dope. Even something as simple as Andrew saying he was gonna take a crap just reminds you these are people, not Gods.
