I think your chordal display might be more accurate if you told it you were in the key of Ab...it thinks you are in C (Ab, BTW is Ab Bb C Db Eb F G Ab) there should no sharps in the scale be relatively few sharps chords. The display lists F# maj7 #11, it is probably easier to process as a Gb maj7 while playing in the key of Ab. Not sure what the #11 is all about. If playing a Gb Maj7, the 11th is a C and the #11 would raise it to a C# (or Db) which is native to the key and part of Gb major chord. Either way, I appreciate your skill and sharing. I play for a very "white" congregation (and I mean that no necessarily as a color, but a culture of stiff, and rigid worship group for whom clapping in church would be just too much and your playing might result in a special council meeting. LOL) and I attempt to play things like this hymn as much in character as I can. So I will borrow some of your harmonies and see if there are any torches and pitch forks after the service 🙂.
