I saw Lou Reed and The Velvet underground (without Nico or J Kale) in '68 it was fantastic. They played in this place called the Trauma, ... in Philly before a small crowd maybe 30 people.

I love the late Mike Gibbins on drums. SO cool in this video, especially in the middle of the song and he's looking at the camera. Just relaxed and cool. 😊

Having a bad day??
One cannot be unhappy after hearing this song. Because after experiencing the elation of this sonic masterpiece, you then HAVE to listen to it 8 more times, each time being filled with even more joy than before.
... in my experience.
Have a good day, you beautiful person!

When I was a little kid my Uncle introduced me to this song. I now have introduced it to my children.
This song is timeless.

Heard this song on GTA of all things recently. Song's a masterpiece, and it's such a "basic" composition, just goes to show that when pure soul is poured into something, it can be special all on its own.

Props to whoever edited this video. Fantastic use of vintage footage.

One of the greatest pop songs of all time. They haven't played "classic rock" like this on the radio in 40 years. Kids these days have no idea what people my age REALLY enjoyed back then.

They were always a decade ahead of there time, super innovative and I have no idea where there influence comes from and it’s brilliant

This music video so perfectly visually describes the way it felt--if you were under 30--when rock n roll first burst upon our culture. It was like nothing else before it with the possible exception of jazz in the '20's. No one had ever heard anything like this music and it was such a welcome deliverance from boring middle class existence. Oh--do I remember?--I "couldn't believe what I heard at all--no--not at all!"

one of the few things I could listen to over and over and over. One of those songs we imprint our own yearnings and desires onto, and the joy and abandon we want to feel. Life-affirming.

First time I heard this was in Memorial Day weekend - I think - in 1972 on New York City radio!

What a song! Poignant story of a child who discovers rock and roll. A Lou Reed/Velvet Underground classic.

I first heard this song on Rock N' Roll Animal, then recently heard the Detroit version with Mitch Ryder, and earlier today I heard the official Vevo version featuring Lou Reed playing it live in his later years. I gotta say, I think this one from the Velvet Underground has got to be my favorite. It's so expressive and pure.
