US lashes out at China's decision to impose sanctions on Trump officials, including Pompeo

The US has lashed out at China's decision to impose sanctions on some Trump officials. The new Biden administration said the move is "unproductive" and "cynical". This comes despite Beijing calling for a reset in relations with Washington. China had also welcomed the news that the US would rejoin the World Health Organization and the Paris climate accord. Even so, Mr Biden has signaled that he will not go soft on China.
