Seldom have I heard the Socratic method put so beautifully.

She gives here the shortest and best explanation of the Socratic method of reaching to a satisfactory definition.

She was an excellent philosophy professor...I used to watch her show/lectures back in the early 80's. Led me to discover the fatal flaw that is called philosophy and/or the philosophical method.

The difficulty is that you could apply the Socratic method to itself (even though this step is unnecessary) and find that Socrates/Plato revealed that there is a limit to our reasoning and language, and reason (alone) is not our motivation to believe in something, or for these concepts to be functional (which they obviously aren't always)
While useful, it mostly shows us our truths, concepts, definitions, are elusive and dynamic when trying to be captured in static statements. Our concepts should be dynamically changing, as is the universe, which is difficult to reflect in statements, by definition. There is something beautifully harrowing in that no description can ever be conclusive.

And eventually they killed him for it.

Seria preciso que o short sobre Socrates fosse outro ou um pouco mais longo. Este ficou gratuito sem nada pra morder...

And yet the true definition is not arrived at in the...aporetic dialogues.
